EVRA BACKS 20 YEARS OLD SPANIARD

Patrice Evra is confident new Manchester United team-mate David De Gea will become a success at Old Trafford.

Spanish goalkeeper De Gea joined United in the summer from Atletico Madrid and was signed to replace the retired Flying Dutch man Edwin van der Sar.

However, he has endured a difficult start to his Red Devils career after making mistakes against Manchester City in the Community Shield and West Brom in the opening Premier League game of the season.

The 20-year-old, though, has the backing of his manager Sir Alex Ferguson and also the support of the rest of the United squad as he is showing a lot potential in the training session.

Evra, who also suffered during the early stages of his Premier League career after arriving from Monaco in 2006, expects De Gea to eventually prove the sceptics wrong.

The French man says it is too early to criticize him because it was his first game in EPL. Evra believes he is too young and will improve a lot

Evra: "I had the same thing when I joined Man Utd,"

"This is the way, when you play for Manchester United to accept criticism.

"I'm sure, I'm confident, everyone is behind him, he's a very talented player and I know he is going to make it."
